Seli Village House
Seli Village House is a beautiful traditional stone house situated in a small picturesque village in the western part of the magical island of Crete and was originally built in 1730. The residence name is inspired by the location of the building. This specific neighborhood of the village Kampos was known as “Seli” which means horse saddle in Venetian language (“cella”) and describes the hills shape on which it is built on. The house is completely renovated and modernized in 2017 with a lot of respect and love to the traditional details. The ground floor, Apartment Anaxagoras – a spacious studio for 2 people – is characterized by an original Venetian style arch which in an open space arrangement divides the living from the sleeping area. The upper floor, Apartment Chrysi – with his two bedrooms equipped for 4 people – offers a wide valley view until the sea. Feel free to enjoy this breathtaking nature panorama while having a glass of our house wine and a relaxing bath in your Jacuzzi.
Seli Village house allows you to breath a bit of the Cretan history in a traditional and as well luxury atmosphere. It consists of two levels which are independent of each other, with their own kitchen, bathrooms, dining and living spaces. The house may be rented as a whole or each level separately as it fits your needs. The outdoor garden area offers you a huge space for relaxing and enjoying your barbeque and dining in an extraordinary surrounding of nature and village vibes.
In the area of the village Kampos you can make a lot of lovely hikes. The E4 hiking path goes exactly through the village. Also the beautiful and easy hike through the gorge of Agia Irini is very recommendable. Kampos is a friendly, still silent traditional village of Westcrete and you will find good restaurants for your lunch and dinner, a small shop for your supplies and a kafeneion.
You can reach Afrotolakkous beach in 8 minutes by car or within half an hour by feet. The wonderful Caribbean beach of Elafonissi and also the white sandy beach of Falasarna are only a 30 minute’s drive away. Also recommendable and nearby is the beach of Sfinari (15 minutes) with it’s romantic fish restaurants directly at the sea.
